Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 May 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the InoxTV applications published for Android mobile and Android TV, including package names in.inoxtv.mobile and in.inoxtv.tv (collectively, the "App").

This Privacy Policy is provided by Jitendra Software Development ("we", "us", or "our").

1 Summary

InoxTV is a media player and playlist management application. The App allows users to add and manage their own IPTV or media playlist sources, including M3U playlists, XMLTV EPG sources, Xtream Codes sources, and Stalker portal sources. The App then connects to those user-configured sources to download playlists, channels, movies, series, categories, and TV guide data, and to play content either inside the App or through an external player selected by the user.

The App is designed to connect directly to the playlist, IPTV, or EPG services configured by the user. Because of that, user-supplied provider details may be transmitted to the third-party services the user chooses to use.

2 Information We Access, Collect, and Process

Depending on how you use the App, we may access, collect, store, or process the following categories of data.

A. User-supplied playlist and provider information

When you add or edit a playlist or provider source, the App may process:

  • Playlist name
  • Playlist URL or M3U URL
  • EPG URL / XMLTV URL
  • Xtream Codes server URL
  • Xtream Codes username
  • Xtream Codes password
  • Stalker portal URL
  • Stalker MAC address
  • Optional Stalker device or set-top-box details such as serial number, device IDs, signature, and model

This information is used to authenticate with and connect to the provider or playlist source you choose.

B. Downloaded playlist and media metadata

To operate the App, the App may download and locally store metadata received from your configured providers, including:

  • Channel lists
  • Movie lists
  • Series lists
  • Categories and genres
  • Program guide / EPG data
  • Logos, icons, and related media metadata
  • Stream URLs or playback URLs when needed for playback and related app features

C. Playback, favorites, and local app state

The App may locally store app state and usage information needed for functionality, including:

  • Favorites
  • Recently watched or history entries
  • Playlist navigation state
  • TV guide update state
  • User interface and playback preferences
  • Last selected playlist or content position

This data is used to make the App function as expected on your device.

D. Clipboard, local file access, and file system browsing initiated by you

The App may access data from:

  • Clipboard text, only when you explicitly use a paste action in the App
  • Local files or document URIs, only when you explicitly choose a file through the Android system file picker
  • The device file system, only when you use the App's built-in file explorer to browse and select local playlist files

For the built-in file explorer feature, the App may request "All files access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) permission on Android 11 and higher. This permission is used solely to let you browse directories and select local playlist files (such as .m3u or .m3u8 files) from within the App. The App does not read, copy, upload, or transmit any file content other than the playlist file you explicitly select.

If you choose a local playlist file through either the system picker or the built-in file explorer, the App may retain permission to access that selected file so it can continue reading it later.

E. External player availability

If you choose to open content in an external player, the App may query your device for compatible apps that can handle video or streaming intents. This is used only to show you available playback options and launch the player you choose.

F. Overlay permission status

The App may request "Display over other apps" / overlay permission for certain features. The App checks whether that permission has been granted so it can enable or disable those features appropriately.

G. Microphone / voice search input

If you use the App's voice search feature, the App may request access to your device microphone so spoken search queries can be converted to text by Android speech recognition and used to search channels, movies, shows, or related media metadata.

For this feature:

  • Microphone access is used only when you start or focus the voice search feature
  • Voice input is used to fill the search box and perform the search you requested
  • Search queries may be stored locally in the App as part of search history
  • We do not claim to independently collect or sell raw microphone recordings for our own advertising purposes
  • Android or the speech recognition service available on your device may process voice input according to that service's own terms and privacy policy

3 How We Use Information

We use the above information to:

  • Let you add, edit, remove, and manage playlists and IPTV sources
  • Authenticate with the playlist or IPTV provider you configure
  • Download and refresh playlist, channel, movie, series, category, and EPG data
  • Play content in the App
  • Send content to an external player if you choose that option
  • Save favorites, playback history, interface state, and settings
  • Maintain TV guide data according to your in-app settings
  • Import playlist information from the clipboard or from files you explicitly select using the system picker or built-in file explorer
  • Diagnose and handle failed playlist or EPG updates locally within the App

4 When Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal data.

The App may share or transmit data in the following situations:

A. With the playlist, IPTV, or EPG service you configure

When you use the App, the App may send provider credentials, device identifiers, or related request data to the third-party service you configure, for example:

  • Xtream Codes username and password
  • Stalker MAC address and related device or set-top-box identifiers
  • Playlist, portal, or EPG URLs requested by you

This is necessary for the App to authenticate with and retrieve content from the service you selected.

B. With an external player you choose

If you choose to open media in a third-party external player, the App may pass the relevant playback URL or intent data to that player so playback can start.

C. For legal or safety reasons

We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the operation of the App.

5 Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable measures designed to protect data handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Important security details for the current App architecture:

  • Certain sensitive values are encrypted locally in app storage, including Xtream passwords and Stalker MAC addresses.
  • Other playlist configuration values and downloaded content metadata may also be stored locally in the App's private database on the device in order to provide app functionality.
  • The App supports connections to third-party services configured by the user, and those services may use either HTTP or HTTPS depending on the provider and the URL entered by the user.
  • If a provider or playlist source uses HTTP instead of HTTPS, data sent to that provider may not be encrypted in transit.
  • Users should prefer providers and EPG sources that support HTTPS whenever available.

6 Data Retention

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the App's functionality on your device, unless you delete it earlier.

In practice:

  • Playlist configurations remain stored until you edit or delete the playlist, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
  • Downloaded playlist metadata, favorites, history, and related app state remain stored until removed by app actions, overwritten, cleared, or deleted with app data.
  • TV guide / EPG data may be retained and pruned according to the App's TV guide settings, including the "Past days to keep EPG" setting.
  • If Android backup is enabled on your device or by your OS configuration, some app data may be included in system backup and later restored to the device.

7 Your Choices and Controls

Depending on your usage, you may be able to:

  • Add, edit, or delete playlists in the App
  • Clear TV guide data from within the App
  • Turn certain TV guide update settings on or off
  • Grant or revoke microphone permission in Android system settings if you want to use or stop using voice search
  • Revoke overlay permission in Android system settings
  • Stop using clipboard import by not using the App's paste actions
  • Grant or revoke "All files access" permission in Android system settings if you want to use or stop using the built-in file explorer
  • Remove the App's access to selected files using Android system controls, clear app data, or uninstall the App

The App does not currently provide a separate developer-hosted user account system. If you do not want the App to retain locally stored playlist, history, or settings data on the device, you can remove that data from within the App where available, clear the App's data from Android settings, or uninstall the App.

8 Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information from children for an independent developer-operated account system.

Because the App can connect to user-provided media and IPTV sources, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors' access to content and provider services used with the App.

9 International Data Transfers

The playlist, IPTV, and EPG services configured by users may be operated from different countries. As a result, data transmitted by the App to those services may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country or region. Those third-party services are controlled by their own operators and privacy practices, not by us.

10 Third-Party Services

The App depends on third-party services chosen by the user, such as IPTV providers, playlist hosts, EPG providers, and optional external video player apps.

Those third parties operate independently. Their privacy, security, retention, and handling practices are governed by their own policies. You should review the privacy policy of each provider or external player you choose to use with the App.

11 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, where required, provide additional notice.
